Affiliate Disclosure

Current status

As of this page’s last update, Kota Kinabalu Hotels does not yet have any live affiliate booking links. An application to Agoda’s affiliate partner program is in progress. Every “Check rates & availability” button on this site currently links to a placeholder and does not generate any commission. This disclosure will be updated the moment that changes, and any page with a live affiliate link will say so.

How this will work once affiliate links are live

When we do enable affiliate links (expected via Agoda, and potentially other booking partners in future), it will work like this: if you click a “Check rates” button and go on to book a room, we may earn a small commission from the booking platform. This comes at no extra cost to you — the room rate you pay is the same whether you book through our link or go directly to the platform yourself.

This is how the site is intended to be funded. We think it’s a reasonable model, and we’d rather be upfront about it than pretend this is a purely altruistic project.

What this does not affect

• Which hotels we include in this guide is based on relevance to Kota Kinabalu travellers, not on commission potential.
• How we describe a hotel — including its downsides — is based on our research, not on which platform we may eventually earn a commission through.
• Star ratings, amenity checklists, and “who this hotel suits” sections are written the same way regardless of monetization status.
