What it is
Hyatt Centric opened in October 2022 on Jalan Haji Saman, set against Signal Hill and across the road from Suria Sabah mall. It has 222 rooms and suites with balconies, a double-edged infinity pool and the ON22/ON23 restaurant and sky bar on the top floors, and a 24-hour gym. Jesselton Point and Gaya Street are both a short walk. There's no airport shuttle; the airport is about 15 minutes by car.

Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies facing the city or the hills; 16 suites sit at the top of the range. Sea views are partial rather than direct, so ask if that matters.

Centric is newer, with balconies and a rooftop pool, and sits a street back from the water. The Regency is the older waterfront tower next to the ferry terminal with two pools. Both are walkable to the islands.
